UFO Shaped Like a Dorito Appears over Illinois

Ok, full disclosure time: I chose this story because it’s the second time I’ve come across a UFO sighting that was described as being like a Dorito, and I already had a nifty, self-made photo to go with it. That being said, lots of things struck me about this story and video. Read the story, watch the video below, and then read my thoughts.

A Dorito-shaped formation of UFO lights was spotted every day by an Illinois resident, so the person picked up a video cam and captured the strange sight on film.

The four-minute footage from the night of July 14 above Arlington Park clearly shows a triangle object hovering the sky, but it’s pretty inconclusive. The lights could be from a satellite or weather balloon, but who knows?

“I keep seeing this object every day this week so far. As soon as darkness falls you can see it hovering around the horizon. This time I was able to capture it with my cell phone as it passed just above my head very low making very little noise (you can hear a slight noise),” the person named “Alex K.” said.

Illinois is a fairly active region for UFO encounters. In fact, one of the most famous sightings ever occurred in 2006 at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, when workers noticed a saucer-shaped craft over one of the gates.

Considering the video evidence presented from Arlington Park, the authorities should launch an investigation. Granted, the lights could be anything, but the public has a right to know, either way. What do you believe these lights are? Is this proof of an alien visitation?

Alex K. said the UFO tended to remain near dark and wooded areas.

Ok, first of all, if I was seeing a UFO every night for a week, I’d probably start walking around with the best video camera I could get my hands on after sighting number two. So I’m not sure why this guy only used his cell phone. Secondly, from watching this video, it’s painfully obvious that this is a conventional airplane. The flashing running and navigation lights pretty much give that away, as does the fact that this alleged UFO behaves exactly like…yep, you guessed it. An airplane. The lack of sound that it’s making can easily be explained by 1)  the plane does seem to be pretty far away, not directly over the cameraman’s head, as he claims, and 2) cell phones are notoriously bad for recording audio. It’s bad enough that we have yahoos out there who think that every plane that travels in a new or different flight path is a UFO, but it’s worse to have these media outlets who put forth the footage as an actual UFO, when it’s clearly a conventional aircraft.
