We really need a new category here at The Occult Section, for stories regarding UFOs that are shaped like everyday things. We’ve done a story on UFOs shaped like Doritos, a UFO shaped like a Ford station wagon, and more. Now we can add ‘UFOs shaped like Buzz Lightyear” to that list.
A UFO was reported in Manchester, England recently that had a very familiar shape. According to the witness who photographed the unusual object, the UFO resembled Buzz Lightyear from the animated movie “Toy Story.” However, she didn’t even notice the object until she saw it in the photograph. Perhaps the strangest thing about the incident is that it wasn’t the first time a Buzz Lightyear-shaped UFO has been reported.
According to information made available on Sept. 22, 2012, a pair of sisters named Maggie Waldron and Lorna Hanmore discovered the Buzz Lightyear UFO in a photograph that Waldron took of Hanmore, who is pregnant. Waldron, the woman who took the picture, told The Sun:
“It’s very strange. I’ve put it up on Facebook and an awful lot of people have said it looks like a baby in one of those door swings. Some people said it looks like a devil. Some people say it looks like a baby with wings. Others say it looks like a robot coming in to land. It definitely has legs and arms and a head. I don’t know if I’d believe in aliens but definitely things like angels and guardian angels.”
Earlier this year, a witness, known only as D. Flower, told the Belfast Telegraph that he saw a light out of the corner of his eye on the evening of Feb. 24, 2012 at approximately 8:15 p.m. in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
The witness observed that the object was moving, and it was too bright to be a star. His sister grabbed her camera and took a picture of the object. The UFO in the picture that she took that night had a strange resemblance to Buzz Lightyear, the character named after famous astronaut Buzz Aldrin, with one arm outstretched and the other arm trailing behind. This new sighting in Manchester marks at least the second time such an unusual sight has been reported.
Once again, we have a story that doesn’t have an accompanying photo. So it’s a bit hard for me to give my thoughts on what this might be. But once again, it goes to show that the human brain always tries to make order out of chaos, to see patterns in random things. I’m not sure what these people caught in their photo, but their brains are already trying to make it into something recognizable.
