A few weeks ago I had a post about Animal Planet airing a new Bigfoot hunting series. Well, now some new details have emerged. the show is set to debut on June 5th, and the expedition team has been announced. From RealScreen.com:
Looking to end the 100-year old search for the mythical creature, Animal Planet is joining forces with Bigfoot researchers on a new series Finding Bigfoot.
As highlighted in Animal Planet’s upfront presentation and airing on June 5 at 10 pm (ET/PT), the Ping Pong Productions six-part series follows a team of Bigfoot researchers in their cross-country expedition to locate the beast.
The four-person team from the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) goes to locations of alleged Sasquatch sightings to investigate with reconstructions and the latest technology to determine whether they were real or not.
The BFRO team is made up of a former roadie, a science teacher, the BFRO president and a skeptical scientist.
I’m excited that the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization is going to be involved in this show. They are probably the preeminent research organization when it comes to Sasquatch research, have a huge database of sightings online, and were on the scene for the discovery of the Skookum cast. I’m sad that this is just a six-part series. Hopefully it will get picked up for more episodes.
I believe I have heard bigfoot right outside my house. Now I say this with many people thinking I’m crazy, but I know what I heard. I was outside one early morning, 1 a.m. to smoke a cigerette and I heard this scream right inside the wood line by our property. Right after the scream I heard this charging through the brush. Now I live in Maryland and we have plenty of deer, but this was obviously running on two legs charging towards me. Needless to say I did not hang around to see what it was. Our motion sensor did go off after I ran inside. I told my wife the next day and she figured I was just hearing things, of course. But one night she was on the back porch and she ran inside telling me she heard the same scream i described to her at the tree line in our backyard. Have not heard it for a while but I do believe it has to be bigfoot. After everything I’ve heard and read, it makes sense. What else could it be?
Weird I thought the Skookum cast was a ELK, even your own link says that, but you go on acting like it’s something special? Did you read your own link? Money Maker is a joke? Wonder if they’ll let him drive the rig this time, last time they demanded he get out from behind the wheel because he drove like a fool, on TV? This sound like a band of drunks from the nearby pub? In fact didn’t I hear where there is footage of them all drinking well they are on expedition and filming for this very show… Oh yeah it’s going to be a whooper!
I’m waiting for the call from a media co that wants to make a real research show, and stop playing games. The AZCRO will get this done!
Best Wishes,
Alex
Wow, that was almost a coherent rant.
And I wouldn’t hold your breath while you wait for the media to contact you.
Best wishes!
what part of maryland you live in cause i live in maryland for all of my 14 years and i never heard a scream frm wat could be bigfoot
Me and my friends wheir out parting one night at north crow in cheyenne wyoming thier was four of us out their that night. Their is a dam at the lake with a tree at the very top of it we wheir drinking and having a good time fishing we wheir not supose to be their because its day time use only. And i have not talked about this because people think i am crazy but any ways we wheir drinking and parting when all of a suden somthing cought are eyes coming up over the dam it was very big taller then the tree it passed which is a pine tree. As far as i know their are not bears their but if it was it was walking on its hind legs then it walked down the dam towards us and it is rockey on the way down towards the lake still walking on its back legs we all saw it when it started coming towards the water we got scared all four of us had saw it and it was coming closer and closer water between us and we wheir still scared as we wachted coming down to the lake side it bent down and started grabing hands of water we got scared and decided to leave we left the cooler of beer and are fishing poles right their on the beach and left. I have never told to many people about it. I dont truly know what it was and cant say it was bigfoot but i can tell you it was bigger than any thing i have ever seen walking on two feet needless to say i have never been back their at night and you can ask the other three people all saperated and i sure they will tell you the same thing. you decide on your own if you belive in them but this is what i seen with my own two eyes .
I have found some weird bigfoot stories in Greene County, New York. It is very much a hot spot. Tracts have been found, one threw stones at a woman. A team came in from California a couple years ago to research a sighting and found a footprint which made the front page of THE DAILY FREEMAN, (Kingston, N. Y.). I had a woman and her boyfriend tell me a bigfoot stood on a guardrail, leap 15 feet into the air across a two-lane highway, summersault, and come up and put his thumbs in his ears, waved his fingers at them and screamed: “Ahhhhhhh”. She will not go into Catskill at night, it frightened her so much! A man told me a bigfoot bumped into his car! Mike Riter 518 -822-0545
This stuff is such BS. IN all our time here on this planet if there was indeed a “real bigfoot” we would have much more visual proof! This show is so damn fake, its easy or them to stage a scream, or a thud, or a “foot print.” We have the technology to do much more advanced things, would be easy for these fake searchers to stage a foot print. I CAL BULL SHI* on this whole ordeal.
I’m guessing from your prejudiced tone that you didn’t actually watch the show, in which case your judgment of it is moot. And if you did your research, you would see that there is actually a lot of evidence supporting the existence of these creatures, and even noted primatologist Jane Goodall accepts the possibility of their existence. There is more evidence for the existence of Bigfoot than there is of God (of which there is none) and yet millions of people believe in God.
I would love to see the “technology” that the average person has to locate ANY illusive animal that doesn’t want to be photographed. Most wildlife photos are taken in enclosed areas.
Our mighty military with all of its high tech intel and the most advanced, state of the art technology with unlimited financial resources couldn’t find Osama Bin Laden for almost ten years when we were sinking BILLIONS of dollars into locating him. We have yet to see an authentic photo of his body too.
I believe that Osama isn’t real either. We have more eye witness testimony about Bigfoot over the last ten years than Bin Ladin. We have more photos and video of Sasquatch than Bin Ladin.
I am playing devils advocate right now but you get my point here. Think about the facts. Thinks about the eye witness testimony, video evidence, footprint casts, sound recordings, etc. Now, think about the search for Bin Laden. Billions of dollars, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year with the most highly trained, best equipped people in the world yet it took 10 years to locate this guy.
Consider now that we have not actually seen Bin Ladins body, no pictures, etc yet everyone is willing to accept that “we got em.” These same people are the very ones to call a credible eye witness a liar when they say they saw a bigfoot. It is always, “wheres a body?” Or, “Wheres a skeleton?”
Think about the double standards.
You can read my commentary on each episode after it airs at http://cliffbarackman.com/finding-bigfoot-episode-guide.php. This week (07.05.2011) I share more details regarding the skunk ape hand print.
The idea of saying elk tracks, gorilla suit, coyotes yelps, etc. are feasible but highly unlikely in every case. Why is it so easy for people to immediately say, “Nah, these things ain’t real,” when presented with volumes and volumes of circumstancial evidence, yet these same people will believe anything CNN or FOX news says without any hesitation.
An eyewitness who has no agenda will see one of these creatures in the most isolated area yet we will call the eye witness crazy. We think we have everything figured out but new discoveries are being made every day. We just recently discovered a planet thought to be almost identical to Earth only 21 light years away. Prior to this discovery, main stream science said these planets didn’t exist either. Only a few hundred years ago we still thought the world was flat and our planet was the center of the universe too.
I hate to split hairs …. but eminem a.k.a. Matt Moneymaker’s usage of the term
‘bigfoots’ is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Shouldn’t bigfoot be in the same
category as moose? The term bigfoot’s or moose’s should only be used to show
possession. Not that there were 3 bigfoots seen – there were 3 bigfoot seen.
Love the show though. Bobo cracked me up last week when he almost knocked
himself out.
Yes, the plural of Bigfoot is Bigfoot (I actually did a post about this a few months back!). I still have yet to watch this show. Knowing that so much was fake sort of deflated my enthusiasm!
I have watched this show and it will give the true Bigfoot hunters a bad reputation these guys think every noise is a Big foot if you watch the tape of them where matt runs after a so called Bigfoot you will notice there are two things in front of him but they never mention the second one . and what is with this SQUATCH that is such a joke i think theres a SQUATCH in his head
It’s a shame that the Animal Planet chose to partner themselves with Mr. Moneymaker. As a credible researcher he leaves much to be desired. His ever ready need to make everything they find fit within his view set that it is proof of Bigfoot without any actual verification is shoddy field work to say the least. I feel that he does more harm to the field of xenobiology than any good that may come of his work. I feel that even if he were to find proof positive of the existence of Bigfoot his involvement would always leave questions of reliability. Whether Bigfoot is real or not is not the issue but the methodology involved. I feel Animal Planet would be better served by placing Renae in charge with Cilff as her second command. This would be a more scientific and reasoned team in my opinion.
I’ve seen bigfoots 4 times in the u.p. of mich. i contacted the brfro and when they came here they turned out to be a joke there leader Bernie almost started the woods on fire by not putting out there camp fire. they have no idea what there doing out in the woods. Do you think you would see anything in the woods with 30 oeople running through thw woods there a joke. If you want the truth with photos about yetis contact me and my 2 friends Hank and Mike. Get those jokers off your show they have no clue
I love your show i have always been fasinated with the stories and tapes of bigfoot so i hope that your show stays on the air for a whilecouse i love watching stuff and evidence about bigfoot you guys should hunt for one in oregon somewhere i hear there have been lots of sightings up there so love the show and hope to see another show be safe and keep hunting
Sorry… This show is just stupid. These “Squatch” hunters are morons. At least the girl questions the photos. The picture in South Carolina was recreated and looked exact, proving it was a man (the guy actually placing the candy bar on the stump), yet all of them, except the woman, are “No, its a Bigfoot” The episode tonight in Washington. The figure on the mountaintop is obviously a hiker. If you look close, you can see a human face and a zipped up jacket. Yet, everyone except the girl is “Its a Bigfoot” Every sound is a “Bigfoot”. They says dumbass things like “We found moss. Bigfoot’s like moss because they cover themselves in it like a bed” Their stupid howling… which they each sound completely different from the other, yet they are “experts” on how a Bigfoot sounds? Never have “clear” pictures or video of a so-called Bigfoot. Always blurry, thermal, or something else. Have never seen or proved a Bigfoot exists, yet they are “experts” on all things Bigfoot. And if they go to all these hotbeds of sightings then why not stay for a month, flood the surrounding area with 200 wildlife cameras, set up small groups 3-4 miles from each other covering a wide area? Whether they exist or not, until one turns up dead or captured it is all speculation and nothing more. But Finding Bigfoot is so stupid it is actually entertaining.
Aren’t the “characters” kind of obvious in this show?
Matt- the leader. sometimes stubborn and butts heads with the rest of the group
Bobo- Goofy, loveable big guy that they use to recreate bigfoot sightings
Ranae – Skeptical scientist who they always manage to win over (if she believes it, it MUST be true)
Other guy – automatically always agrees with leader.
Now weather u believe in bigfoot or not, you people have to admit this show is bs. All they do is re enact peoples stories. Their “investigations” produce nothing. And to find out recently that they charge for their services then make bold claims of evidence is what con artist do.
When They say that “this place looks “squachy” or it’s “typical bigfoot behavior” makes absolutely no sense since there’s no real proof they exist. Peolple I respect and know aren’t crazy have claimed to think they heard one or found a foot print so I can’t say people who believe they exist are crazy, I don’t believe that at all however I think they could find a better group to do the searches because their bf calls don’t sound loke anything at all and that’s all they do. Calls and wait with thermos. They will never find anything.
Your just to jaded George. Comparing bigfoot to bin laden. There has been more evidence of him then bigfoot btw. Barely anything on bigfoot but photos that could be by a teenager trying to play a prank. But wow really bad comparesion.@George
So since the final episode has aired – I guess we’re not really finding bigfoot, this year at least. It seems like the crew just goes to a certain area for a short time and really doesn’t hunt the bigfoots down. It’s all about the chase and the personalities involved. Another season like this one would be a waste of time. It’s time to seriously nail down a bigfoot, if they do exist (and I think they might). They should look at Jeremy Wade and the River Monsters show. He always finds and catches the fish he is looking for even in the murkiest water and the most dense jungles. Maybe they should have him hunt down the bigfoots.
[…] 1. Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet June 5th: This being our most popular post for the year is really no surprise, especially if you’ve read Part 1 or Part 2 of our Year in Review series. Bigfoot enthusiasts clamored for it, controversy surrounded it, and it’s now in its second season. Love it or hate it, Finding Bigfoot is a very popular show. […]
i dont know if this is real or not???
bigfoot scares me
i saw lots of videos of bigfoot so know im thinking is true
@Jason Stroming
the evidence of Gods existence is YOU.
me too @selenagomez
That is a belief, not evidence.
I have heard that the Native Americans, have stories of Bigfoot,in their tribal histories.
I live in ILLinois, and we have been having some strange animals showing up, Is there any storiesof ILLinois having Bigfoot showings?
