Loveland Frogman Found by Pokémon Go Players

Remember that video game that nobody plays anymore where you’d run around looking for bizarre creatures? No, not No Man’s Sky. I’m talking about Pokémon Go. That one week where people were playing it constantly and talking about how revolutionary it was (because it, like, made people walk around and stuff) actually led people to some pretty strange places, like Area 51. Then after being on the market for about 6 days, everyone who absolutely adored Pokémon Go and got highly offended if you questioned why anyone older than 11 would even be remotely interested in it dropped it like a pet rock, probably to try out a new Snapchat filter or something.

Anyhoo, there are apparently two grown adults out there who have the maturity and grace not to be offended when someone pokes fun at them for playing a phone app where you hunt non-existent fantasy animals like Pikachu and Mewtwo, and these people claim to have found a REAL non-existent fantasy animal! Take that, haters! I present to you, the Loveland Frogman…

LOVELAND, Ohio — Long ago, in the ’70s, men spoke of a legendary creature inhabiting the Little Miami River.

Now a couple playing “Pokemon Go” may have stumbled across the same creature, the Loveland Frogman.

The story goes: two different police officers spotted the Frogman on two different nights in the March of 1972, according to weirdus.com.

Wednesday night, Sam Jacobs and his girlfriend were playing “Pokemon Go” between Loveland Madeira Road and Lake Isabella. Then a night of fun turned into a chilling tale of horror; that was when they encountered the purported Frogman:

“We saw a huge frog near the water,” Jacobs wrote in an email. “Not in the game, this was an actual giant frog.”

Jacobs stopped playing Pokemon Go so he could document what he was seeing, snapping some photos and shooting a short video.

“Then the thing stood up and walked on its hind legs. I realize this sounds crazy, but I swear on my grandmother’s grave this is the truth,” he wrote. “The frog stood about 4 feet tall.”

When they returned to Jacobs’ girlfriend’s home, her parents told them about the legend of the Frogman.

So was it the legendary Frogman? Or just a big frog? Jacobs wasn’t sure.

“Either way, I’ve never seen anything like it,” he concluded.

Look, I’m a paranormal investigator. I love cryptozoology and researching all sorts of weird creatures and events. I’m familiar with the Loveland Frogman story. But this looks like Kermit the Frog. The eyes look like light bulbs, not natural eye shine. I don’t know if this couple is hoaxing us, or someone is hoaxing them, but I’m fairly sure this is a hoax.
