As I’m sure you have all heard by now, comedy writer/director and star of Ghostbusters Harold Ramis passed away earlier today. He was 69 years old. He was most famous for starring in Ghostbusters, but was also involved in either co-writing for directing such comedy hits as Caddyshack, National Lampoon’s Vacation, Back to School, Stripes, Groundhog Day, Animal House, Analyze This, and many more. Not too shabby. For most of us who are involved involved in the paranormal though, he was one of the first paranormal investigators and inspired so many of us. We all may have thought of ourselves as Dr. Peter Venkman, but at the end of the day, we were all more like Dr. Egon Spengler. And that’s not a bad thing. Funny, brilliant, and he had much cooler ghost hunting equipment than any of us. Rest in peace, Mr. Harold Ramis.
