I’m usually pretty quick to dismiss most of the supposed Bigfoot videos that are released on the internet these days, but this one has me reserving my judgment…a bit. Honestly, when all is said and done, it’s just another blobsquatch, a dark figure in the woods, shot from very far away, just so that any real identifying features cannot really be made out. The thing that gives me pause and makes me refrain from shouting “Hoax!” immediately is the reaction of the witnesses, which seems pretty authentic when compared to pretty much every other recent video of a supposed Sasquatch.

PROVO CANYON, Utah – A Utah man camping in Provo Canyon caught sight of – what he claims – was a black creature in the woods.
The video’s description, named “Provo Canyon Bigfoot Encounter?” on YouTube [LINK], says the man was camping near Squaw Peak and Little Rock Canyon Overlook when they saw deer up on the hill.
On their way up, the spotted what appeared to be a bear. But when “the monster stood up and looked right at us,” they fled.
“We had actually been standing there for awhile. We had thought it was a bear up to that point but when it stood up and looked at us it was just massive animal,” said the video’s uploader, who goes by the name Beard Card on YouTube. He did not want his real name to be made public.
“We don’t know what it was. I mean none of us really believe in Bigfoot but we’ve talked about it over and over again since then. It happened on Monday and all of us are positive that thing wasn’t a bear.”
Again, just because the witnesses reacted appropriately doesn’t mean that this was a Bigfoot. It still could have been a bear, and in all likelihood, it was. You only catch a glimpse of the creature when it stands up, and with the way the foliage blocks the animal, it does look like a Sasquatch. But I feel like people would just as easily be this freaked out by a bear that looked like a Bigfoot. Once again, the problem is that the footage is just too blurry and short for anyone to really be able to make a distinction. Check out the video below and tell us what you think. Looks to me like the bigfoot? bear? started to move forward after it stood up. Do you see that too?
Honestly, it’s hard for me to tell what this creature is doing. Once it moves, the cameraman starts running, so you don’t see much. I’m wondering how much of it is just forced perspective. But again, I feel like this video is more “authentic” in that they were actually witnessing something, rather than it being a clear hoax with a man in a gorilla suit and a completely inappropriate response from the cameraman 🙂
